Ecological assessments, whether for project planning, to meet regulatory requirements, or to improve restoration outcomes, require broad scientific and ecological expertise. Cardno JFNew’s seasoned team of ecological professionals brings a proven record of performance on hundreds of complex ecological inventories, surveys, assessments, and plans.
As part of our ecological assessment services, Cardno JFNew conducts biological, endangered and threatened species, and avian and migratory bird surveys, soil assessments, habitat assessments, natural resource damage assessments, and wetlands determination and delineations. Our aquatic ecology assessments document water quality issues, habitat quality, water flow patterns and erosion risk, and flood potential.
In addition to understanding a project area's natural features, Cardno JFNew also determines if there are any cultural resources present on the site and the relationship the project may have to those resources.
Outcomes from this work are used for a variety of deliverables, including National Environmental. Policy Act (NEPA) documentation, watershed management plans, and water quality monitoring reports. Our biological surveys of individual species and plant communities provide the data needed to determine what level of invasive species control has to be done to achieve project success.
